We see an amazing opportunity in Jeannette to show that Jesus reconciles people both to God and to one another, through the transforming power of the gospel, for the glory of God and the good of the City.

The best thing we can do for the poor is to plant the right kind of church in their midst.

We believe that this is because the most important thing in helping someone out of poverty, above anything else, is discipleship. Rather than service the poor, we want to include them in the life of Christ and the life of the church. Within our community, with its broken families and broken systems, we want to be a family of God that loves one another and our neighbors well, by working for wholeness and justice in the community, so that people can both see and experience the power of the gospel to create true community and loving family, even across racial, cultural, and socioeconomic lines. However, the focus cannot be the “glory days” of Jeannette, it must be the glory of God. The city of Revelation flourishes because God is in her midst and His glory is their focus, and this is what we want for Jeannette.
